PLAN AHEAD
●Saturday, December 26, 8:30-10:30 p.m., The Return of Festivus and Other Twisted Holidays with the Larry McDonough Quintet (LMQ), at the Aster Cafe, 125 SE Main Street, Minneapolis, MN 55414. Families and students are welcome. $15. Donations to The Human Fund suggested (because musicians have to eat meatloaf).
Are you tired of the same old holiday music?
LMQ will perform music for Seinfeld’s fictional December holiday “Festivus for the Rest of Us” that involves Airing of Grievances, Feats of Strength, and the labeling of easily explainable events as Festivus Miracles, along with odd takes on holiday tunes from the CD Angels, Kings, My Favorite Things and jazz based on rock classics from their recent CD Alice in Stonehenge and other AcoustElectric Adventures. A music stand pole will serve as the Festivus Pole. Audience members will be invited to submit “Airing of Grievances” cards about friends and family to be read from the stage during the second set. Come ready to listen and rant.
Reservations are recommended for the twisted holiday show that fills the Aster Café every year!
Here is a sneak peak at what to expect at Festivus and Other Twisted Holidays on Saturday (and on our soon to be released recording)!
