Legendary jazz vocalist Carmen McRae’s famous tribute recording of all Thelonious Monk tunes is brought to life by local chanteuse extraordinaire Charmin Michelle. Joining her are two acclaimed Twin Cities veterans: Joel Shapira guitar, and Larry McDonough piano. Shapira and McDonough open the show with selections from their Bill Evans/Jim Hall tribute “Intermodulating Undercurrents”.

It’s opening night of the men’s fall bowling league at Lois’ Lanes and the perennial championship bridesmaids, The Bowled and The Beautiful, find their shot at the elusive title already drifting towards the gutter, when their best bowler, Danny Flannery, goes missing.

Thanks to league president Early Erickson’s divine intervention, Samantha ‘Sam’ Addams, the town’s new veterinarian, steps in and quickly becomes their anchor, helping Matt Kanasic, Robert Raymond and Jack Kellogg keep their dreams alive… both on and off the alley.

League Night is about first loves, second chances and third strikes. It’s about confidence, courage and community. It’s about humor, humility, and heartache. And yeah, it’s about bowling. For sure, bowling.
