Larry McDonough Duo plays jazz at Fitger's

The Larry McDonough Duo offers a collection of jazz originals at 9:30 p.m. today in Fitger's Brewhouse, 600 E. Superior St.

The duo, made up of pianist Larry McDonough and drummer Chaz Draper, will perform a selection of new pieces in remembrance of Sen. Paul Wellstone and his wife, Sheila, who died in an Oct. 25 plane crash near Eveleth. A portion of the sales of McDonough's new CD, "Tuscarora: Short Stories for Jazz Piano," will benefit Wellstone Action, a nonprofit group that is committed to continuing the Wellstones' activism.
