Bill Evans tribute: There’s a nifty tribute to the late pianist taking place at the Heights Theater this week. It begins with a set of Evans music by the Larry McDonough Quartet, led by a pianist with a deep appreciation for his catalog. Then comes a showing of the new Evans documentary, “Time Remembered,” by Bruce Spiegel, followed by an audio interview with Evans by the late Minnesota radio legend Leigh Kamman. Jazz88’s REEL Jazz Film Series is pleased to partner with Larry McDonough and the Leigh Kamman Legacy Project to present the Minnesota premier of Bruce Spiegel’s documentary “Bill Evans Time Remembered – The Life and Music of Bill Evans”, Thursday evening November 9th, 7-9:30 p.m. at the Heights Theater.
The documentary was 8 years in the making with over 40 interviews and over 30 archival photographers.
The Larry McDonough Quartet will perform a set of material of Bill Evans; followed by the new documentary about Evans by Bruce Spiegel; and finishing with an interview of Evans by legendary jazz journalist Leigh Kamman.

Thursday, November 9. The recent Twin Cities Film Festival featured the Bill Evans documentary (Time Remembered), and tonight the Heights Theater offers another screening with live music accompaniment from pianist (and Evans aficionado) Larry McDonough, along with a playback of Leigh Kamman's interview with Bill Evans.
